About

This Is How To Budget is a budgeting application and training program brought to you by LUMOS.

We develop and offer our budgeting program for free with the intent to make practical budgeting software and training accessible to everyone regardless of background or financial capacity. Our budgeting application is primarily aimed at people and small business however can be adapted to larger scale enterprises or other use cases such as budgeting for non-financial resources (feedstock etc.).

With our budgeting application you can generate a personal or business budget with pre-filled categories; configure the budget with bank account balances, income and expenditure (including debts); automatically forecast cash flow, income and expenditure for custom time frames and automatically generate a statement of financial position plus much more.

The application is available on the Google Workspace Marketplace and the content in the Training section below shows how to install, use and budget with the application. Deactivate The Budget Application With A Spreadsheet

In this video we show you how to deactivate the budget application with a spreadsheet. The budget application will become activated with a spreadsheet and begin performing various functions automatically when any of the menu options are selected. This could happen accidentally with a spreadsheet not intended to be used as a budget in which case it will be necessary to deactivate the application with the spreadsheet.

Disable The About Alert

Update Legacy Expenditure Types

In this video we show you how to resolve the issue ‘the type selected is no longer supported and needs to be updated to a current type’ and update no longer supported (legacy) expenditure types to the current types.
